The Catholic University of America

Welcome!

The Center for Global Education is pleased to announce its Brazil Year Initiative. This year-long initiative is only the beginning of a long-term university-wide goal to strengthen and expand academic and cultural ties between CUA and Brazil, as well as between CUA and the vibrant Brazilian community in our Washington DC area. We build upon an already strong Brazilian presence in our institution: the world renowned Oliveira Lima Library—considered one of the finest collections of Luso-Brazilian materials in the U.S.—, a long trajectory of commitment from our School of Music to the study and performance of the music of Brazil, a successful participation since 2012 in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program, and the dedication of many of our faculty who for many years have enriched the academic experience of our students through the research and teaching of language and culture from the Luso-Brazilian world.
