Assistant Vice President, Global Education
Tanith Fowler Corsi
Tanith Fowler Corsi was raised in the Principality of Monaco in Europe and completed the French Baccalaureate with honors in Literature and Philosophy at the Institution Saint-Maur in her home country in 1988. She earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations at the University of California, Riverside, and completed her master's degree in International Communication with an emphasis in Cross-Cultural Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. Ms. Fowler Corsi has been working in the field of International Education since 1994 at various institutions of higher education including American University, George Mason University and the Catholic University of America. In 2005, she created and helped implement the Washington Area Study Abroad Network (WASAN), which includes 10 academic institutions in the metropolitan region. She is an active member of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and the Association for International Education Administrators (AIEA). Ms. Fowler Corsi provides senior international officer (SIO) leadership at CUA and overseas the Center for Global Education (comprised of CUAbroad and International Student and Scholar Services). In addition to English, she is fluent in French and has conversational abilities in Italian and Spanish. Her travel experience includes countries in Western and Eastern Europe, as well as Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East.

Ella Sweigert
Born and raised in Hungary, Ella Sweigert completed her Bachelor of Arts in Teaching degree with a double major in History and Russian Language and Literature at the Janus Pannonius University of Pecs. She earned a Master of Arts in Education (M.A.E.) degree in College/University Student Services at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Ella has been working in higher education since 1995 in roles as diverse as Career Planning Advisor, Study Abroad Coordinator, and Assistant Director at public and private institutions such as the University of Iowa, the University of Northern Iowa and Arcadia University. She is an active member of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA). Ms. Sweigert provides leadership and manages the Education Abroad section (CUAbroad) of the Center for Global Education. In addition to English, she is fluent in Hungarian and speaks Russian and some French. Her travel experience includes countries in Western and Eastern Europe, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Global Program Manager
Madison Bolls
Madison Bolls is a Global Program Manager with CUAbroad, assisting and advising students in their preparations for education abroad. She grew up in the suburbs of Richmond, Virginia, and moved to the D.C. area to study at George Mason University. She was able to snag student work at the study abroad office, and has been an advocate for international culture and travel ever since. After studying in Monaco, Greece, and Turkey and working at London's British Museum, she completed a degree in Art History and Art Administration, focusing in ancient art. Her travels have included the United Kingdom, across the Mediterranean, and Guatemala. She is thrilled to be a part of the CGE team, and looks forward to assisting the CUA community in broadening their horizons!
Director, International Student & Scholar Services
Helene Robertson
Helene Robertson has been Director of International Student Scholar Services at CUA since 2002. She began her career in international education in 1991 as the Visa Officer for Georgetown University's Medical Center. In 2000, she left Georgetown University to work at an immigration law firm for two years before joining the Catholic University community. She has been active in the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) where she has served on various committees and held positions that helped analyze the affect of immigration regulations on campuses and helped to shape the Association's advocacy efforts. She has presented at regional and national conferences, has authored/coauthored several chapters of NAFSA's Advisors Manual.
Assistant Director, International Student and Scholar Services
Gudrun Kendon
Gudrun Kendon is the Assistant Director of International Student and Scholar Services at the Center of Global Education. She joined ISSS in January of 2007 after having worked for five years in the Cultural Division of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Washington, D.C. She is committed to the field of international education and has worked advising international students since 1989 primarily in the Washington, D.C. area. She holds a Master's degree in Intercultural Management from the School of International Training located in Brattleboro, Vermont. Born in England, she has traveled extensively throughout Europe, visited New Caledonia, Kenya, South Africa, Malawi, Egypt and Israel and has lived in Australia, Spain and The Netherlands. She finds working with international students extremely rewarding and feels honored to be able to meet and learn about people from all over the world!
Administrative Assistant, International Student & Scholar Services
Rita Barriteau
Rita Barriteau, originally from Granada, serves as a Designated School Official for the University's F-1 program and an Alternate Responsible Officer for the Exchange Visitor Program. She is a 20+ year employee of The Catholic University of America. She has served the international student population of the university longer than anyone else, having smoothed the way for hundreds of international students during good and bad times, including Sept. 11. Her dedication, warmth and ready smile have made her a favorite in CUA's international community.
